Podcasts and YouTube Channels To Check Out

There are SO MANY podcasts and YouTube channels out there to help motivate, inform and entertain us.

I love to tune in to a business or productivity podcast while I’m getting ready in the morning or out running errands. This blog includes a few of my faves.

MY PICKS: BUSINESS

As a small-business owner, I love to stay informed on the latest news in my industry so I can better serve clients.

Below are a few of my top picks.

  1. Katie Steckly (YouTube)

    THE HOST

Katie Steckly is a digital marketer who owns Creatorly Media.

    THE SHOW

She covers social media strategy (with an emphasis on Instagram), videography, YouTube strategies and more.

    WHY I LOVE IT

While a lot of her videos are designed for content creators and personal brands, I have learned a lot of things that I have been able to translate into work for my clients.

  2. Small Business Straight Talk (Podcast)

    THE HOST

Amber De La Garza is a small business coach, trainer and speaker.

    THE SHOW

Her podcast focuses on productivity, time management, business systems and mindset. She also interviews experts and business owners.

    WHY I LOVE IT

I really enjoy her practical approach to business management. I get ideas and tips—but, even more important, listening to her reassures me that I’m doing the best I can.

  3. High Season Co (YouTube)

    THE HOSTS

Tiffany A. Davey and Craig B. Thorn are founders of High Season Co, a social media agency. Also, I’m giving them extra points for being an entrepreneurial couple too!

    THE SHOW

Their channel focuses on social media strategies - particularly Instagram tips, tricks and tactics.

    WHY I LOVE IT

We all know how hard it is to keep up with the ever-changing algorithms of social media. Watching Tiffany and Craig makes me feel smarter about where social media is today and where it is headed.

  4. Couples Inc (Shameless self-promotion of our podcast)

    THE HOSTS

Jodie Spears (me) and Glenn Buercklin (my partner in life and business) have been married since 2004 and business owners since 2010.

    THE SHOW

Our podcast tackles topics of interest to couples who own a small business together.

    WHY I LOVE IT

First, we both love sharing information and helping other couples in business work better together. Also, it’s a great project for us to work on together.

MY PICKS: PRODUCTIVITY

I pride myself on my organizational and time-management skills. Productivity is my JAM!

But it’s always nice to hear other perspectives or learn a new approach.

  1. Plan Goal Plan (Podcast)

    THE HOST

Danielle McGeough, PhD is a professor, speaker and small business owner.

    THE SHOW

The podcast focuses on mindful planning and holistic goal setting.

    WHY I LOVE IT

While this seems more geared to working moms, I find her to be very inspiring and I love her mindful approach to productivity.

  2. Amy Landino (YouTube)

    THE HOST

Amy Landino is a best selling author, speaker and content creator.

    THE SHOW

I’ve been following her channel for years! She offers so many tips on building the life you want.

    WHY I LOVE IT

Her productivity tips are great and I find her videos to be well researched. She helps you be super productive without being overwhelmed.

  3. Work + Life Harmony (Podcast/YouTube)

    THE HOST

Megan Sumrell is a productivity and time management expert.

    THE SHOW

Her podcast (which also airs on YouTube) provides tips on all things time management, organization and productivity for overwhelmed women.

    WHY I LOVE IT

This show is also geared to the working mom, but I still find her tips very useful and her tone motivational. The episodes are short and to the point. An ideal listen when I’m getting ready in the morning.

MY PICKS: JUST FUN

Sometimes you just want a good laugh, get book recommendations or hear the latest celeb gossip.

Below are just a few of the podcasts that scratch that “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” itch in my brain.

(I know you’re singing that song now. You’re welcome!)

    THE HOSTS

Knox McCoy and Jamie B. Golden are hilarious pop culture aficionados.

    THE SHOW

The Popcast is a weekly podcast that is - in their words - “educating you on things that entertain, but DO NOT matter.”

    THE SHOW

This podcast is my go-to for all things book related.

    WHY I LOVE IT

In my opinion, this is one of the best book podcasts out there! I get a ton of recommendations and get to hear how other people live the reading life.

  3. Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Author Gretchen Rubin and her sister Elizabeth Craft, a Hollywood show-runner.

This list is an ever-growing one and I didn’t even include the various makeup and fashion channels I watch, the BookTubers I love or the countless travel vloggers I tune into regularly.

I just wanted to let you know about a few of the places I go to for inspiration, motivation and education. Enjoy!
